I’m Dave Morrissey and I’m running for New York’s 8th Assembly District in Smithtown. My oldest son William was taken from us by heroin. I became an activist in the recovery movement.  Now I'm running for Assemply.

In Albany, we need evidence-based prevention and treatment paid for by the Opioid industry that started this epidemic. We need insurers to step up. We need to put dealers out of business. We need to be ready for anyone who wants treatment, to get opioids out of our community, away from our kids, and to help those already suffering, so we can all flourish. And we need to revitalize our infrastructure, protect our water, and guarantee women’s rights.

Smithtown needs to be represented with vision, principle and passion.
